The wild pheasant hunting season at Coteau View begins the third weekend in October and runs through January 31st.

What types of hunting options do you offer?

You can choose between guided and self-guided pheasant hunts. We also offer guided waterfowl packages in addition to pheasant hunting.

How much land do you manage, and what makes the habitat good for pheasants?

Accepted Answer

We offer over 12,000 acres of professionally managed land — including 3,000+ acres of CRP and creek-line cover and 11,000+ acres of corn, soybean, milo, and wheat cropland with tree rows that create excellent pheasant habitat.

What are the lodging accommodations like?

Accepted Answer

The lodge occupies a converted granary from the 1950s. It now offers around 3,500 to 4,800 sq ft of living quarters plus a 1,400 sq ft cabin for larger groups. Amenities include a full kitchen, gas grills, wireless internet, modern appliances, game room (pool table, card table), sun-room, and a welcoming prairie-style atmosphere.

What is included in the hunting packages?

Packages — for both self-guided and guided hunts — can include concierge airport transfers, lodging, meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner prepared by a private chef), gun training/safety classes, unlimited trap shooting, heated kennels, satellite/smart TVs, free fiber-optic WiFi, drinks and snacks in the field, bird cleaning, packaging and freezing, and access to 12,000+ acres of hunting land.

How are your prices structured for pheasant hunting?

Self-Guided 3-Day / 3-Night: $1,800 base, $2,200 meals package. Guided 3-Day / 3-Night: $2,100 base, $2,700 all-inclusive. Self-Guided Day Hunt (1D/1N): $700 base, $850 meals. Guided Day Hunt (1D/1N): $800 base, $1,000 all-inclusive.

Question 8

Do you offer waterfowl hunting packages?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we offer a 3-day / 4-night guided waterfowl package with dogs, ground blinds, and decoys, priced between $1,650 and $1,950 (plus tax and any per-day add-ons).

Question 9

Are dogs allowed, and what kind of dogs do you use?

Accepted Answer

Yes — your own dog is welcome, and we also hunt over master-level pointing Labrador retrievers. Heated kennels are available on site.

Question 10

What entertainment and additional amenities are available at the lodge?

Accepted Answer

The lodge features a game room with pool and card tables, a sun-room, a private stocked fishing pond (bass, trout, walleye and more — open year-round, including ice fishing), unlimited trap shooting, and a comfortable prairie-style atmosphere with a stone fireplace, modern comforts, and scenic views.
